In most cases, Outpatient Detox allows patients to attend treatment while getting through the detox process.

Outpatient Detox assistance requires a medical evaluation and clearance by appointment only. For patients who meet the criteria for Outpatient Detox, La Jolla Healing Center can arrange accordingly through collaboration with licensed facilities and doctors.

Participants requiring Inpatient Detox services are referred to area facilities that collaborate with La Jolla Healing Center for a safe, medically supervised detox prior to entering our Outpatient Treatment program.

Though La Jolla Healing Center does not offer onsite detoxification services, our credentialed staff will support you through the process to ensure a continuity of care.

Known Physical Withdrawal Symptoms

• Alcohol: tremors and seizures lasting from a few days to several weeks

• Benzodiazepines: anxiety and seizures lasting anything from weeks to months

• Heroin and prescription opiates: flu-like symptoms usually lasting 5-7 days

• Cocaine: restlessness and depression, lasting 7-10 days
