Integrative and Holistic Help
The process of addiction causes damage in every area of a person’s life; biological, psychological, social, and spiritual. These become stressors that play a key role in the cycle of emotional pain and addiction.
Our program treats the whole person by integrating solution-focused resources and coping skills for regaining balance in fundamental areas of life: relationships, career, school, community, and health.
Family Education and Interaction
According to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, 16% people over the age of 12 have an addiction. When six addicts are put together, one of them will have multiple addictions. This means that for every standard classroom size of 25, there are four middle/high school students who are already addicted. This does not include those who will develop an addiction in their later years.
La Jolla Healing Center, in conjunction with the CYMO Foundation, has been working with and educating families on Alcohol and Substance Abuse for over 8 years throughout La Jolla and San Diego County. Our Family Education and Interaction Program teaches patients how to recognize Substance Abuse. Further, we help guide families with what to do when a loved one is using, identify the signs of use, and take the steps needed to ensure the addict has the support to remain sober.
Relapse and Coping Skills
Intensive Outpatient Programs can help empower a patient with the ability to withstand the stresses, emotions, and triggers of the real-world. This allows the issues that may have led to dependency and/or relapse to be addressed by our professional staff. Studies show that relapse may be avoided with the correct coping skills.
So, what if you are currently sober (maybe because of rehab or detox) and now you’re not sure if you want to stay sober? La Jolla Healing Center’s staff are experts in recognizing signs of possible relapse, and can provide clients with the essential coping skills needed to avoid relapse. Don’t throw away your recovery and hard earned sobriety.
Nutrition
Substance abuse and other compulsive behaviors usually have a negative impact on eating habits. It could be the amount of food one eats, but the food itself may also lack proper nutrients like essential vitamins and minerals. In conjunction with our partnered programs, La Jolla Healing Center offers guidelines for proper diet and nutrition. We can help set up meal plans, provide studies on metabolism, and help people in recovery make the most of their progress overall.
Weekly Drug Testing
We use drugs tests to identify if a particular substance has been used by an individual. It can be an effective technology for the right person at the right time. A positive indicates that the individual has been using the substance within a specific time frame. It is important to note that drug tests are used as a tool to help one’s recovery, and not as a means to find guilt or administer punishment.
Counseling
At La Jolla Healing Center we can help individuals, families, or groups with counseling to accomplish mental health, wellness, education, and career goals. We work together to overcome obstacles and other personal challenges one might be facing. We can identify goals, or potential problems which cause emotional distress, and improve one’s communication and coping skills. Let us help you build your self-esteem by guiding you toward positive behavioral changes. By optimizing your mental health, you will find endless possibility in your personal and professional growth.
