Dr. Kamran Zafar

Founder and CEO

Dr. Kamran Zafar’s talents solidified after 24 years as the Managing Director for a $180 billion dollar international financial group, helping many executives reach their goals in the corporate world. Dr. Zafar was responsible for conducting daily business operations, but also for training and counseling company personnel to succeed both personally and professionally. He accomplished this by teaching individuals how to change their thought processes and overall belief system.

Dr. Zafar expanded his education through the University of California San Diego with an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counseling certification and an Interpersonal Skills Counseling Certification. Prior to this, he had earned several degrees, first in Business Administration at the United States International University of San Diego, and the second, a Ph.D. in Psychology at the University for Humanistic Study San Diego. Kamran first joined with Sharp Vista Pacifica as a chemical dependency counselor and continued at Casa Palmera as an eating disorder and chemical dependency Counselor before starting La Jolla Healing Center 13 years ago.

 

Dr. Patricia Lutfy, MD, DC

Medical Director

Dr. Lutfy is a Board Certified physician and received her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies in 2008. She completed her internship in Family Medicine at Southside Hospital in Bayshore, NY in 2011 and her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota in Jan. 2015. Her training enabled her to gain extensive experience in Pediatric and Adult Rehabilitative Medicine.

Dr. Lutfy has worked in San Diego area facilities for Pain Management and understands the challenges of medication dependence as well as addiction. She is also certified to prescribe Suboxone, when necessary and on a case-by-case basis. In addition, she received a certificate of completion following a six month training in acupuncture for pain, anxiety, and other neuro-musculoskeletal conditions.

She is passionate about employing non-medicinal mind/body therapies whenever possible to complement patients’ existing medical treatments, while also employing pharmacotherapies and medications where appropriate.

Dr. Lutfy also holds degrees in Chiropractic, Massage Therapy and Dental Hygiene, and has achieved certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as the Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians. She gained invaluable experience working with terminally ill patients while volunteering as a massage therapist and caregiver for the San Diego Hospice and Center for Palliative Care.

Dr. Lutfy has served as an Associate Director of Rehabilitation at the Palomar Medical Center Downtown Campus, Medical Director of the Acute Rehab Unit in Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City, and has provided rehabilitative consulting services for several Skilled Nursing facilities located in Escondido, Crescent City, and San Diego.

Donna Kashani, M.D.

Board Certified Child and Adult Psychiatrist

Dr. Kashani has maintained a thriving private practice for over twenty-five years. She earned her medical degree at the age of twenty-three and has dedicated her career to patient care and wellness with an area of focus working with healthy and high functioning teens and adults. She co-authored a book, "Raising Happy Children" with her father, a world renowned child and adolescent psychiatrist and comes from a family of sixty doctors.

Dr. Kashani has made hundreds of television and professional appearances and provides practical therapy on issues related to parenting, career advancement, self-care and maintenance, as well as promoting a comprehensive medical assessment and educated treatment. She will patiently address the multitude of issues impacting well-being which affects one's family, social and professional life as well as the impact on self. Since 2015, Dr. Kashani has been consistently ranked by Healthgrades as the number one child and adolescent psychiatrist in the country.
